Where are you from?
The family comes from all over Danmark having moved from Fyn, Jutland and now is centered outside Copenhagen in Koege.

How long have you been in the United States?
Since the early 50's.

What brought you to the US?
My parents. They met in Iceland right after WWII. Dad was a Coast Guard officer and my mother was working there after the war as a governous.

What is your occupation?
Retired Naval officer.

What do you like most about the Danish Club of Washington?
The chance to meet and socialize with other Danes and continue with Danish traditions.

How long have you been an officer of the club and what positions have you held?
This is my second time being the Club's assistant treasurer.

What year did you join the club?
Darlene and I joined in 2001 shortly after being transfered to DC.

What is your favorite event sponsored by the club and why?
That is a difficult question to answer since all events have their own charms but I do have to say that the Christmas bazaar is on the top of my list.

What is your favorite Danish Food?
My favorite Danish food are of course the fishes and open faced sandwiches.
